How many do you think we accomplished?  How many grow beds?  Do you remember our goal from last week’s blog?  We hoped to build, fill and plant 40 new grow beds in the back.  Did we do it?!?

Well. . . . . sort of. . .

Obviously daily operations had to continue at the farm.  The weather also didn’t cooperate exactly how we hoped.  However, we were able to build, fill and plant 22 grow beds.  We have an additional 7 laid out ready to be built.   Once those are built the remainder of the wood needed is on site and ready to go.

We planted a lot of fun winter crops that should be ready around the start of the new year.  Things like snap peas, broccoli, beets, carrots, edamame, spinach, onions, and radishes to name a few.  We have already observed some of the onions beginning to sprout.  That’s QUICK!

We also continue to be pleased with how our lettuce is growing in the green house.  These cooler temperatures help us sustain better temperatures in the green house and our lettuce really looks great.  We harvested yesterday and todays for some of our customers and the heads of lettuce were the best I’ve seen.  Take a look and tell me what you think.

As always, thank you for your continued support.  We look forward to outlining (soon!) ways in which you can continue to get our produce aside from the Farmer’s markets.  More news on that in weeks to come.

Stay warm.  Stay safe.  See you soon!
