Some weeks are hectic. Others are quiet. This was a quiet week. We spent the first couple of days of the week preparing the farm for the weather that was to come from the remnants of Hurricane Ida. We made sure to cut all of the grass, weed eat around all of the fences, and other fun maintenance tasks that need to happen to keep the place looking good.
While we didn’t get a ton of rain – we got some rain and we’re thankful for it. New life and growth are beginning to show and we’re excited for the harvest to come later this fall.
As all farmers do, we continue to fight against those trying to destroy crops. Whether they’re deer or caterpillars – if they’re messing with our produce we’re going to figure out a way to get rid of them.
With this being a holiday weekend we don’t plan to be at the Fort Mill Farmers Market on Saturday. So that, too, causes this to be a slower week. Sometimes slow is good.
Have a great, long weekend!
