Carrots, Radishes, and More. . .

This has been a great, cold week at the farm! There’s been a lot of work done this week to make the farm more secure, more appealing, and more productive!

Back in November, we planted our 48 beds that we built in the back. Of those 48 we planted - 20 or so beds didn’t germinate properly or they were eaten by some wayward deer that gained access a few weekends back when we had excessive wind gusts that caused some fence damage. Of the beds that are growing in the back we have a great looking crop of carrots, radishes, spinach and green onion.

This week we planted some more onions, carrots, spinach, and leeks. We also put up new fence post and secured new fencing to connect the front and the back and allow for future growth for more grow beds inside of the fence.

Like you, we’re eagerly awaiting to see what happens this weekend with the call for winter weather. We will spend our time Friday securing grow beds to protect them from the bitterly cold weather that will roll in over the weekend.

Stay safe this weekend and share your snow/ice pictures with us!
