Where Have We Been?

A few weeks ago we had to make the tough decision to dispose of 6,000+ heads of lettuce. We fought hard, all naturally for a few months trying to get rid of aphids. We never really made headway. So we disposed of the affected lettuce and started over.

The new lettuce looks great and we’ve continued our regimen of all naturally fighting the aphids.

You may have also seen on social media that we’re now experimenting with hydroponics by growing lettuce in towers. We have two towers of lettuce and one tower of strawberries.

While we’re not as active on social media and blogging we continue to work behind the scenes to experiment and keep the farm viable financially. We’ve also spent some time doing some “spring cleaning!”

We had everyone back at the farm yesterday for our first harvest in over a month. We were so thrilled to be able to have everyone there and get some lettuce out the door!
