Purchasing our Produce

We often get asked about how to purchase our produce. There are a variety of ways that we often mention through these blog posts.

We are working hard at growing our CSA availability. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. For us, we refer to this as a Bag of JOY.

Bag of JOY is a subscription based delivery program where families sign up to receive our produce delivered to their homes weekly. Currently, the cost of this is $100/mo. which equates to roughly $24/week. Our goal is to provide 3-5 varieties of produce each week. Produce is dependent upon the season and availability at the farm.

How does this work in real life? We pride ourselves on being transparent, so let me show you:

  • 2 containers of lettuce (6 heads of lettuce): $16.00

  • A bunch of carrots (8-10 carrots depending on size): $4.00

  • 2 bunches of Spring onions (3-4 onions depending on size): $4.00

In our example, there’s $24.00 worth of produce being delivered to someone’s house. Our prices are based on what the market dictates. An individual could go to Harris Teeter or Publix and buy similar produce for roughly the same amount of money. The benefit with us, however, is that you’re supporting local and you’re purchasing produce that has been harvested within hours of delivery to your house. Who knows when or how the store produce was picked! You’re also helping the farm grow and hire individuals with special needs. It’s more than just great produce!

Beginning May 14, we will be selling our produce weekly at the Fort Mill Farmer’s Market. Depending on availability our hope is to be able to sell additional Bags of JOY each week that are pre-purchased and available to be picked up from us at our booth. The availability of these will be made known via Social Media as well as email blasts. If you don’t receive the weekly blog in your email, you haven’t signed up. Make sure to sign up below.

We appreciate your support of our farm. Our best days are yet to come. Hang on for the ride.
