Spreading JOY. .

Today marks one year since my life (Jamey) changed dramatically. In the blink of an eye, a family that I love, experienced extreme loss in a tragic set of events that also impacted the lives of others. Our family has attended church with the Lesslie family since 2001. I also had the honor and privilege for working with Dr. Lesslie for a number of years at Riverview Medical Center. As they say, “our roots run deep.”

As the one year anniversary of this tragic event occurs today, I’ve had trouble with the words to say or even the things to do. There are questions still unanswered. However, I believe in a sovereign God who is in control of all and works all things to His good and glory. That in my moments of weakness - He is strong and faithful. My hope isn’t in this life and the things taking place. My hope is in Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the cross. I grieve and rest in His hope knowing that this isn’t the end and we will one day be reunited again for eternity.

CN2 ran a wonderful piece that I would recommend to you here.

First ARP (201 E. White Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730) installed and dedicated a food pantry (Noah’s Snack Shack) and little library (Adah’s Library) last May. Jeremy and I made the decision today that we would help stock the snack shack in their memory. A way for us to spread a little JOY. We want to challenge you to do the same. Whether you make the drive to Rock Hill or choose another place to give - take an opportunity over the next few days to spread some JOY and give back to those in need.

Hug your family tight tonight.

Have a great weekend.
