A hard freeze?

Sunday morning doesn’t look good. This is what farmers across our area dread. While we realize that it’s still “winter” and temperatures like this can occur - it can cause a real headache. The very warm temperatures we have had over the past two weeks have made everything bloom. From those terrible bradford pears in your neighborhood to the peach trees at our farm and others across our area. For those, like us, who have strawberries - the cold temperatures forecasted are not a welcome sight. These blooms could be (and probably will be) decimated by a hard freeze as predicted for Sunday morning. So, what do you do? You plan and prepare. We will spend today (Friday) covering as much as we can that we believe could be affected by these temperatures. Then we will watch and wait.

Have a great, warm weekend!
